| Problem Statement | Introduce a new PGE for generating global MODIS Terra/Aqua Combined MAIAC CMG products in the C61 MODIS land reprocessing. The C61 MAIAC suite of CMG products include MCD19A1CMGL, MCD19A1CMGO, MCD19A2CMG, MCD19A3CMG. |
| Description of Change | Initial version of the science processing algorithm (PGE158) to make the MAIAC CMG was developed at SCF. Loader module (LM) and production rule updates and additions were made by MODAPS STIG to complete the transition of this process to a MODAPS PGE. C61 Specific Algorithm Change/Improvements: a. Added undef min/max in cDaate.h.3. Changed the LM rule for minfile requirement and pick current date data. 4. Increased size and used basename for InputPointer metadata to fix a bug caused by too long of the parameter value, fixes a bug of extra CoreMetadata.0.1 = in the InputPointer metadata. 5. Accommodate the conditions, when there are no retrievals, the code will output a warning and there will be no compacted AOD data output |

| Data Granules to be Used for Science Testing | A series of science tests have been carried out to assess and fully confirm all production rule and science changes, in AS 1899 and AS 1913. The outputs from this test were fully assessed and approved by LDOPE and the science team. |
| Justification | The new C61 MAIAC CMG products carry critical science information and added datasets that were requested by the user community. |
| Effective Date for Implementation of Change | MODAPS was requested to start the reprocessing of the C61 MAIAC CMG products, with all the changes mentioned herein, as of 09/12/2022. The products, whatever have been generated this far, have been reviewed by LDOPE and science team and approved for release from the DAACs. |
