| Abstract | PGE23 6.1.12 -- 1. Correction for PGE23N_LoaderModule to properly skip the tiles that have previously been flagged as unnecessary because they are not produced for MOD10A1. 2. Correction for PGE23_LoaderModule to properly archive intermediate files to be flagged for archiving for the beginning of the year when it is forced. |
| Problem Statement | C61 PGE23N was not going to DeletePGE in NRT for 6 tiles that either falls outside the projected domain or does not have any land in them. This was happening because a relevant section in the PGE23N loader module (LM) had been commented out sometime back. In addition, for another four extreme polar tiles, 5101[6789]000, the DB files were not being archived properly in STD processing stream, during the northern winter period, when no actual outputs are generated for these tiles. This led to these four polar tiles having to be forced at the beginning of C61 NRT processing, where the DB files for all the tiles were synced from the STD processing. |
| Description of Change | Two changes were made to the C61 PGE23 V6.1.12 to ensure that the 6 non-land tiles go to DeletePGE, as expected and that for the four other extreme polar tiles, the DB files are correctly archived during the northern winter period, even though the actual product may not be produced. The second change will also ensure that the operator will not have to force these polar tiles during this winter period, in the STD or NRT stream, in future. |

| Justification | The C61 PGE23 V6.1.12 will ensure that the 6 non-land tiles go to DeletePGE, as expected and that for the four other extreme polar tiles, the DB files are correctly archived during the northern winter period, even though the actual product may not be produced. These changes will make it easier for the operator and will likely minimize any scope for errors as the operator will not have to force any of these tiles in the NRT and STD processing streams. |
