Abstract | 1. PGE114 v6.4.5 - Roll back PGE114_LoaderModule.pl script 2. PGE115 V6.4.6 - Roll back PGE115_LoaderModule.pl script |
Problem Statement | A discrepancy was noted in the C61 processing of the MOD11B2/B3 for some of the data days from the beginning of the Aqua mission in 2002, where these n-day products were not waiting for the upstream MOD11B1 to be fully finished for all the required data days. So, MODAPS thought that this could be related to a flaw in the loader module (LM) of these PGEs and hence submitted a patch to address this in the PGE114/115 LM. But it was realized later that this is an expected behavior towards the beginning of the Aqua mission and is expected to go away on retrying those PGEs for the affected data period and so this patch was deemed unnecessary and hence was rolled back in these new versions that are address in this PCR. |
Description of Change | Roll back changes made as respective patches to the LM of PGE114/115, forcing them to wait for an additional 31 days to ensure completion of all input MxD11B1. |
Products Affected | MODIS C61 6KM 8-day (MxD11B2) and monthly (MxD11B3) LST products. |
Software Affected | PGE114 6.4.5; PGE115 6.4.6 |
Processing String to Receive the Change | Terra and Aqua Forward Processing. Terra and Aqua Forward Reprocessing. |
Downstream Product Effects | None |
Data Granules to be Used for Science Testing | A small science test was carried out in AS 1783, to confirm that the essential science behavior of these PGEs were essentially the same as what was being in C61 re-processing thus far. |
Justification | Roll back of a PGE version to a prior version is needed when a change to the operational PGE was confirmed as not needed to ensure that unwanted revision is not moved forward and inadvertently used in the future revision. |
Effective Date for Implementation of Change | As soon as possible in the current leading edge of C61 re-processing, as of drafting this PCR (07/17/2020) |
Status | Major algorithm development completed. Chris Justice approved on 07/28/2020. Sadashiva Devadiga approved on 07/23/2020. Gang Ye approved on 07/27/2020. |
