| Abstract | The science team delivered a patch in the form of another version of PGE134 (V6.0.8) to correct the issue of this reversal in burned area, that was noted to affect 26 specific land tiles. |
| Problem Statement | A bug in the production software (PGE 134) caused the burned grid cells in columns 0 and/or 2399 (left-most and right-most columns) of 26 specific tiles of the MODIS C6 BA product (MCD64A1) to be incorrectly relabeled as unburned. |
| Description of Change | The above issue was caused by a bug in the production software fixed in PGE134 version V6.0.8. This revised version of the PGE corrects the issue of this reversal in burned area noted to affect 26 specific land tiles. |

| Justification | Without the suggested fix to the science code, the MCD64A1 product for 26 specific tiles contained missing burned area along the first and last columns of the tile, thereby falsely showing up as unburned. With the fix in place this issue is now corrected and corrected products will be produced for these tiles. Since this isn't a significant issue this update will be put in C6 forward processing from day 2018213 and onward. |
