| Justification | First production run of the VCF product in MODAPS. Prior versions of product were run at SCF and only product delivered to MODAPS and then to the LP-DAAC. Algorithm was ported for running in MODAPS and has completed numerous science tests and performance improvements to where the MODAPS version can produce science quality results in a fraction of the time it takes to complete at SCF. **Updated comments: 1. The C5 Processing at MODAPS used Versions 5.0.8 (2001, 2003, 2005, 2007) and 5.0.9 (2004). In the PGE version 5.0.9, the java-heap memory in the second stage PGE61M is set to 1905M as opposed to 1900M used in the version 5.0.8. There is no change in stage1 or stage3 for these two versions. 2. For years 2001 and 2004, PGE61M failed to run on MODAPS, so it was run on the test machine and the model was then loaded to MODAPS for stage 3 processing. 3. Product issues related to retrieval of product outside of the projection and few incorrect metadata will be addressed at the SCF and the corrected product will be delivered to MODAPS by the SCF. |
