| Abstract | Fix bugs in writing the QA information to the IDS Intermediate products. |
| Problem Statement | PGE11's MOD_PR09.exe IDS outputs contain QA information, but the algorithm that writes QA information to the IDS files had several bugs in it, such asthe omission of aerosol-quality information and cloud shadow information. |
| Description of Change | To IDS-writing algorithms was added for 1) handling omitted data (aerosolquality, cloud shadow), 2) adding other QA information, 3) adding band 3 path radiance data, and 4) changing the names of some of the SDSs in the IDS outputs for clarity. All changes are to IDS outputs, and do not affectlevel 2 outputs. |

| Justification | Changes to the QA data of the IDS products (and downstream CMG products) are necessary to make the data in these products more clearly defined andless ambiguous. For example, prior to these changes, it was difficult to determine whether pixels with low reflectance in the visible bands were inregions of cloud shadow or not. |
