| Abstract | PGE687 2.0.4 Revised PGE687_LoaderModule.pl: - For V*28A2 and V*21A2 inputs, as long as 1 input file is available and PGE runs for PGE698 or PGE636 prior start time are complete, we process instead of going to NoRun when there are less than the full amount of files available. - To support check for V*21A2 inputs to be complete when fewer then expected inputs are available, added a variable for PGE636 count, which is not the same as the count of V*21A2 inputs expected. This will help make sure PGE636 is complete in processing in cases where the PGE information is available. - Removed code where IfForced to stage V*28C0S from end of the processing data year. |
| Problem Statement | Created a new version of VIIRS Global Water Reservoir Monthly CMG, PGE687, v2.0.8, to correct flaws in the PGE687_LoaderModule.pl that prevented the PGE from running when less than the full amonth of expected inputs were available. It also mistakenly looked for/staged VNP28C0S or VJ128C0S to use as an input when forced. These settings caused SNPP July 2022 to not be processed and due to the sequential processing nature of PGE687, data for SNPP Aug 2022 - Oct 2022 to be influenced. |

| Data Granules to be Used for Science Testing | A science test was conducted of PGE687 2.0.4 on ops4 AS4082 using SNPP data from July 2022 through October 2022 to confirm revisions would allow July 2022 to process and verify data from Aug through Oct 2022 were good with the update. Additionally, process using SNPP and JPSS1 data from 2/1/24 to 5/1/24 to confirm revisions did not introduce differences. LDOPE reviewed tests and confirmed outputs were as desired. The GWR team also reviewed and agrees that everything looks good. |
| Justification | To be used to generate data over the current NPP gap for July 2022 and improve the data for Aug through Oct 2022 and to prevent these types of gaps for occurring again should data be missing during any data month for SNPP, JPSS1 or JPSS2, once we begin use for JPSS2. |
| Effective Date for Implementation of Change | PGE687 2.0.4 is going into use at the leading edge for SNPP (currently 5/1/25) and JPSS1 (currently 4/1/25) and be used from that point forward. PGE687 2.0.4 will also be used to reprocess SNPP July 2022 through October 2022. |
