| Abstract | Fix to add a new L1B LUT for the noisy sub-frame issue. |
| Problem Statement | Current L1B code fills all pixels collected by a dead detector with values interpolated from adjacent working detectors. It doesn't handle the case when 1 or a few sub-frames are bad. For example, detector 29 and 30 of Terra band 2 suffer from cross-talk problems from another band, which affect only the first of the 4 sub-frames of data in each frame. |
| Description of Change | A new LUT table to provide sub-frame bit flag for every detector will be added. L1B code will be added to mark pixels affected by noisy sub-frames with a special value. |

| Downstream Product Effects | A new global detector quality flag about the noisy sub-frame will be added for downstream users. The pixels affected by noisy sub-frame in native resolution data will be filled with a special value: 65525 in L1B product, and there are also small changes to aggregated data. A new statistic data of noisySubframeDataPercent will be added for downstream users, and the statistic data of uncalibratedDataPercent should be affected. |
