| Problem Statement | The MODIS C6.1 L3 Volcano Alert next generation products, MODVOLCNG and MYDVOLCNG, are being generated in the NRT system from PGE181 as of 12/18/2025. |
| Description of Change | The MODIS C6.1 Volcano Alert PGE, PGE181, uses code developed by the Volcano team out of the University of Hawaii and detects volcanic eruptions based on thermal signature. PGE181 uses of a set of static WORLDBASE files, generated by the Volcano team. |
