| Problem Statement | In recent 2014 Terra cloud products, situations where Band 36 Detector 7 has failed led to striped 1km cloud top properties and striping in downstream cloud optical properties (MOD06_L2). |
| Description of Change | PGE06 v6.0.83 A new de-striping config file for Terra (destripe_config_terra.dat.v4) was delivered as part of the PGE06 package. No science changes were made to either MOD_PR06CT or MOD_PRDS, only the addition of destripe_config_terra.dat.v4. Use of the new file results in detector #7 of Terra band 36 being replaced by detector #6. There are considerable improvements in the 1-km CTPs when using the new file. The update also fixes the issue with striping in cloud optical properties retrievals. |
